Most 433 MHz devices transmit at 433.92 MHz, and that is where the RF-HUB receiver normally listens. Some products use a nearby frequency instead — the best-known example is Somfy RTS, whose remotes transmit at 433.42 MHz.
The setting
Open the hub's web interface and go to Settings → Advanced → Extended bandwidth. The setting is on by default and requires a restart of the hub when changed.
- On (extended) — the receiver is centred at 433.7 MHz with a 700 kHz bandwidth, so it hears both standard 433.92 MHz devices and Somfy RTS at 433.42 MHz, as well as other remotes on nearby frequencies within that span.
- Off (narrow) — the classic 433.9 MHz / 500 kHz receiver. Slightly better range and sensitivity, but only standard 433.92 MHz devices are received.
When it must be on
Keep it on if you use Somfy RTS — or any other product whose remote transmits on a frequency other than 433.92 MHz. Note that the hub always transmits to Somfy motors on the correct frequency regardless of this setting (it switches frequency automatically when sending). The setting only affects what the hub can receive — for example learning a Somfy remote or seeing its button presses.
When narrow mode makes sense
If all your devices are standard 433.92 MHz and you want the last bit of range, you can turn the setting off.
Symptom
If the hub does not react when you press buttons on a Somfy remote — for example while pairing — check that Extended bandwidth is turned on.
