You can almost always keep your existing Telldus equipment when switching to RF-HUB. RF-HUB speaks the same 433 MHz protocol as Tellstick.
What carries over
- Remote controls — all buttons you pressed with Tellstick can be learned by RF-HUB.
- Switches and dimmers — Nexa, Proove, Clas Ohlson, GAO, Rusta, Kjell & Co, Otis, Sartano, Arctech etc. are controlled directly from RF-HUB.
- Sensors — thermometers and motion detectors (Oregon Scientific etc.) are picked up automatically.
What does not carry over
- Telldus Live schedules and scenes — you need to recreate them in RF-HUB (or in Home Assistant/Homey).
- Telldus cloud account — RF-HUB uses qtrl.me instead.
The steps
- Install RF-HUB according to the installation guide.
- Learn your remote controls — press all buttons on the original remote controls or via Telldus Live while RF-HUB is listening.
- Teach the switches to RF-HUB (see guide).
- Connect Home Assistant or Homey if you want automations.
